Brightlingsea Oyster Feast

The Fifth Annual Brightlingsea Oyster Feast was held on Saturday 26th September 2026, at the Colne Yacht Club.  The event was opened by The Deputy of the Cinque Port Liberty of Brightlingsea Mr. Tony Linton.  A wonderful evening followed, with guests enjoying a four course meal, with plenty of Oysters, talks from two superb speakers, Professor Steven Hepall spoke about owning the sailing smack My Alice, and what it takes to sail and old Oyster Smack, followed by Mr Andrew Watson who talked about the plight of Oyster fishermen and the origin of the Tiles of Tragedy in All Saint’s Church.  The evening was rounded off with a traditional raffle, draw by the Deputy.  Well done to the organisers of the event and to the Colne Yacht Club.  We look forward to the Sixth Oytser Feast next year.
